Prop 8 passed with the narrowest of margins, more people came out to oppose this discriminatory intitiative. It was not enough. No matter how well intended or righteous the opposition felt they were justified in voting yes on banning same sex marriage, it effectively took away rights from a group of Americans.  Their actions were also rooted in hate even if it was packaged in biblical scriptural interpretation.

The fight is not over. It may not be this year. It may be happen in a few more years.  Equality will eventually be realized by the LGBT community. This vote has simply unified us and strengthened our resolved.
