Dustin Lance Black won Best Original Screen Play for the movie Milk at the Academy Awards this past Sunday. However what he said in his acceptance speech spoke volumes about his courage. He grew up in the LDS culture (Mormons) and was gay. His was a journey of self acceptance and love. It was a spiritual journey. I have posted his acceptance speech below.
The fight for civil and equal rights continues. The dream will not end and voices will continues to be raised until it is all realized.
omg, this was probably just about one of the best acceptance speeches i’ve ever heard – hearing what dustin had to say & how he said it – it gave me a lump in my throat & put a smile on my face – totally weird combo, go figure!!! 🙂 equal rights for all 🙂 !!!
