    Sexual activity is a choice…it’s what you decide to do with whom and how…

    Sexual orientation (and that’s your phrase, not mine) is not a choice. It’s a drive, much like love is not a choice. People are lead by their innate nature to be attracted to others, and cannot purposely help who that is .

    Ask any straight person when they chose to be attracted to members of the other sex, ask them when they thought about it and made the decision about whom to be attracted to.

    But this is more than just sexual though. I really don’t like the emphasis on sexual when it comes to these discussions of human/equal rights in our civilized society. It’s more about love, partnership, intimacy. Maybe you can turn off your sexual drive with some sort of focusing exercise or psychological treatment or even drugs and shock treatments, but I don’t think you can turn off who you are attracted to for love.
