November 20th – Transgender Remembrance Day

eleventh1

Within the LGBT rights movement is the Transgender community.  This is often the group that probably has the toughest obstacles on the road to equality issues than any demographic in across LGBT peoples.

They face both prejudices outside the community and even within the community. Some of those prejudices have resulted in violent and murderous hate crimes.

On November 20th,  Transgender Remembrance Day,  efforts will be made to remember those who were victims of such heinous crimes. It also is a time for our society to reflect on the social justices mechanisms and enforcement that needs to to be put in place ( Thank goodness for the Federal Law against Hate Crimes that was finally passed and signed into law), so that these individuals can realized full equality without fear of death.

The number of Transgender Deaths has doubled within one year. As of Oct 22 2009 there has been 95 deaths calculated the year year before there were 47.-YOU TUBE
