Good friends of mine from Salt Lake City sent me pictures from their Pride celebrations held earlier this month.  It rained that day.  However, there were still large numbers that showed up.

There is a special solidarity in a state where the predominant Mormon Church ( Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) is headquartered.  With the Church’s heavy political involvement in opposing same sex marriage measures in the country ( the most famous of which is Proposition 8), the pride celebrations in Utah take on special significance.

To our LGBT friends and sympathizers in Salt Lake City,  continue the fight….
