Crystal Bowersox

Besides some of  the outstanding performers who appeared in last week’s American Idol Gives Back Charity event which raised $45 million dollars for children’s causes in both the United States and internationally,  the real story was the blow out performance by Crystal Bowersox  and the continuing star power emerging with Lee Dewyze.

Crystal Bowersox brought the house down with her emotional  of  Get Ready.

Lee Dewyze put out a very moving performance of The Boxer.

Both emerging music artists have  those independent, relatively raw unknown backgrounds that fuel the American Idol machine.  It has been a long time since such authentic down to earth “common man” contestants have been such front runners on this show.  They are not fabricated or slick.  They are bight spots in a rather dull American Idol season.

If  their performances continue to shine, it will most likely be a Bowersox – Dewyze showdown for the title.  No matter who wins the top prize,  America has already gained two great new music artists . I cannot wait for their albums!
