San Francisco Celebrates Giants World Series Win!

TJ Wilkinson Celebrates San Francisco Giants World Series win!

I will remember the moment  with my business colleagues and I watching Game 5 of the 2010 World Series. The cheers at the Strata clubhouse turn into a roar as the residents of San Francisco poured into the streets celebrating the San Francisco Giants 3-1 win in Game 5 over the Texas Rangers winning the World Series.  Imagine a win like this since 1954!

Horns honking everywhere and the city of brotherly love was personified in the faces of ecstatic fans!  Market Street had throngs of people taking over the streets as the joy of the win spread all over the place.

440 Bar Celebrates Giants win!

I ended up in the Castro with friends where the celebration was continuing in high pitch. Drinks and shots were flowing. The first bar we hit, 440, had open bar for 10 minutes.  We joined the celebrants at the intersection of Castro and 18th Street where streams of toilet paper flapped in the win from the cable car lines.  People were on the street shouting and dancing with joy.

With us in the midst of a  difficult election, the game of baseball, this old American tradition, once again united a people in celebration.   Like the movie Field of Dreams when Kevin Costner‘s character asked, “Is this Heaven?”   This week in San Francisco is Heaven!

Congratulations, Giants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
