September 11th – Have We the Courage?

Morning broke and the sun shone…
Smoke billowed and buildings failed…
Planes wrecked into a farm field…
And into the fortress of our defense…
The Reaper took many, as heroes were also made…
Weeping arose from the land as fear took our hearts…
A new enemy shrouded in robes of relentless hate…
Forever changing us to bloodshed through the years…
Find us now thirsting for peace , still shackled by the fear…
From the billowing smoke of the falling buildings…
Heroes we remember today in homage and prayer…
Have we the courage to move forward beyond the rage…
