Goodwill To All Men
by : JP Leddy
In the cold , stark numbing days that
melt into grey merging into grey
where angry, tired faces glance away and elsewhere
seem to mark the year no matter the season
one only hopes the tinsel and colored lights
and the hymns that fill the air will open
hearts to warm the barrenness with lighted fires
of kindness that acts of giving turn the blight into
the fertile valley of brotherhood where lack is unknown and
goodwill to to all men is abundant
