Good country music tells a story and does it from the heart. New music artist, Steve Grand, does this with his new single , “All American Boy,” which talks about the universal pangs of unrequited love on a consuming crush. The unique thing is that this country music artist is gay and his object of desire is a man.

However, when you watch the video you forget about the gender orientation, in many ways, because the lyrics, the music and the heart of the song transcends all of that and touches what is common in all of our humanity. His raspy, masculine voice offers a an excellent addition to the country music tradition. It’s about time this voice is represented in this genre.
