Yes, it is raunchy. It is also endearing. It is also very funny. Neighbors has taken over the movie theaters of America. it is both a laugh fest with a load of heart. The story could have been soul-less but it is truly a layered , endearing tale. Yes, it is about a fraternity that moves in next to a young family.
It is more about our lives, growing up, college, graduating, starting a family, yearning for our youth, and it is also about our humanity.
Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, who star as the young couple with the adorable baby, simply steal every scene where they make an appearance. They are so good together matching each other’s comedic timing and acting performances. I have not seen a duo like that on the big screen.
Zac Efron and David Franco also turn in great performances as the heads of the raucous fraternity next door. The comedic antics are at high level and there is a lot of laughter. The feud between Rogen’s character and Efron’s character is epic.
The language of the film and some of the scenes make this movie for adults only. It is worth the watch.
