In a world burdened by the effects of a prolonged economic downturn, environmental crisis, and the ever present threat of violence,  here in the city of San Francisco a drag performer is making a difference.  This person is Ana Mae Coxxx.

Coxxx  has been a regular performer for the well established Hayes Valley Follies at the Marlena’s Bar on Hayes Street.  Known as a show stealer, her combination of  theater background and passion has made Coxxx’s performances simply spectacular.  She commands the stage.

Ana Mae Coxxx also appears regularly at fundraising events donating her performance time to raising funds for needy charities. She has become a presence in the gay community of San Francisco for her tireless work.

A former Ms. Gay Atlanta and Ms. Prizm Colorado,  Coxxx is now actively campaigning for the title of Grand Duchess in the Grand Ducal Council of San Francisco.  Elections are on Saturday, September 18th and open to all residents of San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo counties, gay or straight with a valid I.D. confirming residence.

Coxxx wants to use the platform of Grand Duchess to raise funds for charities that are often overlooked or in much need of funds.   She wants to bring together the current involved community and also recruit younger people to the cause to keep the efforts going for these projects.

She has been able to help raise thousands of dollars for school programs and health related endeavors.

Coxxx wants to carry on and further the mission and tradition of the Ducal Council which reads:

“The San Francisco Council of Grand Dukes and Grand Duchesses was originally founded over 35 years ago to provide diverse areas of the San Francisco community with charitable and personal support. Through the years we have expanded our grants to other worthy groups of the community at large which may be overlooked by other fundraising organizations in the City. We do not receive support from government resources, but depend on donations from individuals and business. Hundreds of people’s lives have been materially and positively affected by the kindness and charity of the people who support us.

Coxxx’s close supporters and friends have been inducted into her Haus of Coxxx which has given her a foundation of  a fund raising team and a campaign team.  Foremost among this group is her campaign manager, George Langford, who recently was elected Royal Daddy of San Francisco.

Langford has been a creative and innovative campaign manager using both traditional and social media to run the campaign.

Speaking of Ana Mae Coxxx,  Langford has written,

“Ana Mae COXXX has done numerous things for the community over the past years to ensure that non-profits, individuals, along with organizations have what they need to be the best they can be in our community. She has done this without a title and has raised thousand’s of dollars.”

Ana Mae COXXX would love to meet and exceed what they have done to ensure that local organizations and the surrounding communities don’t fall short of what they need! I know she will continue to do so as your next Grand Duchess of San Francisco.She has drive and passion in every event she plans, every event she attends and ever hand she touches! She is extending her hand out to you and asks that in return please give a lending hand to ANY organization, Fundraiser or Event that you can. All it takes is a little to do a lot!”

Also of note from the Haus of Coxxx,  is Jason Husted who is the sole candidate running for Grand Duke in the Ducal Council. Husted is another well known active fundraiser in the community.

With the belief that all things are possible, one gets a feeling that a drag performer who is able to gather the masses to support worthy causes is the best representation of it.    Ana Mae Coxxx has touched many lives and has been able to show that individuals can make a difference.  This drag performer certainly has in her community.
